About Bar Solder
There are two basic types in common use, Sn63Pb37 Tin Lead eutectic solder and SAC305 Tin Silver Copper solder. There are more than 20 other kinds of solder alloys in use, but these tend to be for special purposes.
The solder normally comes in bars or wire. The wire and bars called "hangers" are used for automatic replenishment, the standard bars are fed by hand
